Beginning the interview with the ID basics such as your name, location of the interview, and the date the interview is being held.

Never interrupt the subject when he/she is talking or mention ‘uh’ ‘huh’ but instead nod your head in agreement.

Never hesitate to re-record if the subject has made a mistake or a ‘noise’ from a passing truck has turned portions of the interview inaudible.

Ask question that arouse ‘sensibilities’ in the subject.

Always look into the subject’s eyes, and present an expression that makes it appear that you are very interested and keen to know the response of your questions from the subject.
