Transcription Styles
We follow the transcription styles as requested by customers, the four kinds of transcription styles that we process are:
Verbatim |
The utterances of the speakers are unedited and includes hmm’s, ah’s, and includes stutters, repetitions or distracting speech such as, “I see” “yeah” “maybe”. The speakers may pause, laugh or cry, and there may be interruptions and comments, including noises of the traffic outside or any other external noise. This style of transcription is mainly used for research or legal depositions. |
Smooth Verbatim |
Based on customers preferences, the hmm’s, ah’s are eliminated, but the slang’s and emotions of the speakers are included into the transcript. The smooth verbatim style is followed exactly as per the preferences of the client. This style is solicited by clients for:
|
Content |
This style requires corrections in the grammar and eliminates interrupting comments from the interviewer and slang’s are corrected or eliminated, personal comments if any are also omitted. The end use of this style of transcript is to summarize a discussion. |
Rough Draft |
The transcriber listens to the audio just once, without stopping to rewind or re-listen. These are drafts and cannot be labeled as transcripts. The standard accurate transcripts are a result of the transcriber listening to them over and over again to ensure that no part of the audio is left out, and also to make sure that the sentence has been correctly understood. If hard to hear phrases are difficult to comprehend then “inaudible” is typed in the transcript.

All said and done, we strictly follow the instruction of the client, and the 2nd pass by the editor ensures that the accuracy of the transcript is 98%
